AeroTech/Quest is pleased to announce the Tripoli certification of our new N2700W-PS 75mm RMS Reloadable Motor System rocket motor reload kit designed for use with AeroTech’s new RMS-75/10240 Rocket Motor Hardware. This powerful new rocket motor has been specifically designed for use as an upper stage sustainer motor for the $10,000+ AeroTech Space Challenge competition. This new event challenges individuals, groups and teams to fly to the “Karman Line” or 100 km (62 miles) above ground level using certified AeroTech high-power rocket motors totaling no more than 40,960 N-sec. Developed for use with our new matching RMS-75/10240 motor hardware, this new 75mm rocket motor is perfect for upper stage use coupled with our 98mm O5500X DMS rocket motor as the booster, in an attempt to reach and surpass the defined edge of space. The new N2700W-PS 75mm RMS rocket motor reload kit will be available mid-2025 and the new RMS-75/10240 RMS rocket motor hardware is available now.

The N2700W-PS rocket motor reload kit delivers an impressive 10,322 N-sec (2,320.4 lb.-sec) of total impulse, making it the highest performing 75mm RMS rocket motor currently available, with a 3.8 second burn time and an all-up weight in our new RMS-75/10240 rocket motor hardware of 19.97 lbs. (9,058 g). Featuring a 4-grain core burning propellant design using AeroTech’s aerospace-grade White Lightning™ propellant formulation, the peak thrust is 4,625 N (1,039.7 lbs.) with an average thrust of approximately 2,717 N (610.8 lbs.) and a propellant weight of 5,275 g (11.63 lbs.). White Lightning, AeroTech’s most popular propellant formulation, produces a brilliant white exhaust plume with lots of bright white smoke and a throaty roar at lift-off. Although the N2700W-PS produces delay smoke, it is a “plugged” rocket motor that does not include an ejection charge and requires the utilization of an electronically-activated recovery system. The RMS-75/10240 rocket motor hardware is a standard 8-grain length case and the 75mm N2700W-PS RMS reload kit features 4 longer “double length” grains for this new RMS motor system. Originally intended as a second stage sustainer rocket motor, the new N2700W-PS RMS rocket motor reload kit together with the new RMS-75/10240 rocket motor hardware can deliver excellent performance in a single-stage rocket vehicle.

Unfortunately, this new rocket motor reload kit cannot be sold or used as a high-power hobby rocket motor in California due to OSFM regulations. The 75mm N2700W-PS (No. 13270P) RMS Reload Kit ships with a standard FirstFire™ Initiator, has a suggested retail price of $779.99 each and may be purchased by consumers 18 years of age or older with a Level 3 NAR or TRA Certification or by educational institutions, government agencies or licensed Commercial entities.

The RMS-75/10240 (No. 7510C) rocket motor casing with Stainless Steel Forward Seal Disc (SSFSD), but without forward and aft closures, has a suggested retail price of $699.99.

To assist competitors entering the $10,000+ AeroTech Space Challenge, we have also developed the following new RMS motor closures to accompany our new RMS-75/10240 rocket motor casing.

75mm “No Smoke Charge” Plugged & Threaded Forward Closure(No. 75FCPTNS) - $149.99 ea.

75mm Flush Aft Closure (No. 75FACC) - $119.99 ea.

75mm Tail Cone Flush Aft Closure (No. 75TFAC) - $209.99 ea.

Complete RMS-75/10240 Rocket Motor Hardware System (No. 7510M)
(Includes No. 7510C, No. 75FCPTNS & No. 75FACC) - $921.99 ea.

Certified by the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA), the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR).
